From grassroots organisations to large-scale movements, African activists and advocates have been instrumental in shaping the continent’s social, political, and economic landscape.
Inspired by its literal meaning in Kiswahili, the African Social Movements Baraza brings together social movements from all 54 African countries, providing a platform for conversation, networking, solidarity building, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing.
The Baraza serves as a critical space where activists, advocates and change-makers convene to exchange ideas and strategise on addressing the pressing social issues facing the continent.
As part of the 3rd edition of the Baraza, TrustAfrica partnered with ThriveAfrica to curate Afrikan Stories for Social Change. This initiative harnesses the power of storytelling to amplify the voices and work of social movements, shedding light on critical social justice issues and driving collective action.
